I began making jewelry when I was a child. My mother would give me her broken jewelry and I’d remake it into a new creation. She would wear the new jewelry and actually got a lot of interest in my abilities. As I got older I made jewelry for friends, family and myself and more people took notice. I taught my best friends how to take the costume jewelry they had and remake it into something new.

Dragon Lady Studios began in 1996 when my husband and I were looking for something we could do when he retired. We decided that we would expand my jewelry line and travel around the country to attend art shows and festivals. We were living in Rockford, Illinois at the time and there we began participating in local art shows. I won several awards, word began to spread and I started having trunk shows in Wisconsin, Michigan and Maryland as well as Illinois.

I incorporate gemstones and findings from all over the world and I love searching for antique and vintage beads to enhance my designs. My work includes an extensive variety of materials and techniques, from sterling silver to gem stones; wood to resin each piece is unique and as individual as the customer who buys them. I also design and sell a line of wedding jewelry carried in several retail stores throughout the country.
