The urge to create has always been a lifelong drive for me. Since my dad taught me how to use a hammer at age 5 and turned me loose with scrap lumber and nails, I recognized early on the joy of creating that which resides in our imagination!
After majoring in art, I taught art in the public schools for a while, followed by another professional career for many years. In 2003 I decided to pursue art full time and have done so with great joy.
Currently I create bright, vivid collages. They are whimsical in nature, and often represent a cock-eyed, sometimes irreverent view of the world. I begin with an idea and a huge box of paper scraps and cut and paste my way to describing the humorous side of common, everyday events. The process feels much like spending a day in kindergarten. I believe that is a good thing.
I also am an oil painter. Unlike my collages, my oil paintings are soft, gentle representations of images that capture my attention. I have a love and respect for nature and currently am fascinated with skies and the variation of light found in them. I feel blessed to spend my life creating and look forward to sharing my work with you. I also offer the services in interior redesign.
